In past years, civil engineers focused on design and construction of new facilities, such as buildings, bridges and highways, water treatment and environmental facilities, foundations and tunnels. Today's civil engineer not only has to design new facilities but must also analyze the effects of deterioration on infrastructure elements, consider system interdependencies and evaluates life-cycle impacts while also considering environmental and economic sustainability within the context of society.

Civil engineers must be equipped with in-depth knowledge of traditional, fundamental principles and new technologies in order to address the complex, interdisciplinary problems faced within society. The undergraduate program at Narasaraopeta Insistitute of Technology gives the students the necessary background to success within this new context and to become the future leaders of the profession.

Department of civil engineering was established in the year 2011 with an objective of imparting quality technical education in the technical field.  The department offers B.Tech. (Civil) intake of 60 students.  The faculty members are qualified and experienced and can mentor and monitor students for growth in life and career.

Apart from the regular academics, the faculty and students are also engaged in conducting workshops, guest lectures, and seminar in alliance with external agencies to enhance the skill levels.  As a part of industry readiness, we provide rigorous training to the students.

Faculties are encouraged with financial support to attend workshops, conferences, and publishing papers in order to identity the thrust areas and support students in their learning process.
